Richmond, BC – As presenting sponsor of the 2010 SOS Children’s Village Run, River Green – Aspac Developments Ltd.’s latest master-planned community – was on site to cheer on participants as they lined up along Richmond’s scenic dyke trail for the 1K, 5K, and 10L run on May 30, 2010.
Mr. John Ryan of Aspac was present to congratulate SOS Children’s Village BC for their dedication to the development of foster children in the province, while Mr. Gary Wong, Vice President, ran the 5K, accompanied by his family.
“River Green is honored to help at this year’s Run,” Mr. Ryan said. “Like SOS Children’s Village BC, Aspac believes in building legacies that will last for generations. The River Green community, which will be developed over the next 15 years in Richmond, is our most exciting project to date and we hope it will contribute to the City of Richmond just like SOS Children’s Village BC contributes to the province.”
Mayor Malcolm Brodie pronounced the day to be the SOS Children’s Village Run Day amidst the applause and cheers of runners, volunteers and supporters.
In addition to hosting a booth draw for two free annual memberships at the Richmond Olympic Oval, the River Green Story Center, located next to the Oval, was specially opened Sunday to the general public, with Centre facilitators on hand to take visitors through the various “story stations” that pays tribute to the history and diversity of Richmond.
The River Green Story Centre will be officially open to the public on June 19.
