On December 2, 2011, over 100 guests attended the River Green Wellness Day hosted by Aspac Developments at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Aspac Developments is heavily involved with building communities and healthy lifestyles. Wellness Day featured a variety of fitness activities including badminton, table tennis, basketball, Tai Chi, and obstacle challenges.
Speeches were made by Ms. Linda Reid, MLA of Richmond East, Mayor Malcolm Brodie and Ms. Karen Tung of Aspac Developments.
A group of members from SUCCESS Richmond were invited to participate in the event. Most of them were at the Oval for the first time and were very interested in what this world-class facility has to offer.
After the formalities, the Taoist Tai Chi Society of Canada held a special presentation for the guests with various Tai Chi moves. They invited the audience to join and try the fitness activity.
Guests also enjoyed healthy snacks and drinks throughout the event.
Aspac Developments would like to encourage River Green residents to lead a healthy, active lifestyle and remind them that this is a great facility at their doorsteps when the first phase is completed in 2013.
To encourage participation in the Oval’s programs, Aspac has purchased approximately 1,000 memberships that will be offered to River Green residents.
Aspac is part of the Richmond Legacy Program, which provides sport, health and fitness activities, skill development pathways and role-model leadership to all ages and skill levels, contributing to the improved health and wellness of the community and to the international success of athletes wearing the maple leaf.
