Olympic medalists Denny Morrison and Kristina Groves smile for the camera with some young fans.

On February 13, 2011, two speed skating medalists from the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games – Denny Morrison (Gold Team Pursuit) and Kristina Groves (Silver 1500m and Bronze 3000m) return to Richmond where they have lived and trained for months prior to the Games. This time, they want to inspire people and make a difference.

On this day, they dedicated their time to raise money for their charity of choice – KidSport Canada – with an autograph signing at the River Green Story Centre. A large crowd of visitors were able to receive personalized autographs and photo sessions with the Olympic heroes.

Throughout the weekend, River Green, as one of the Silver Sponsors of this year’s Winterfest, hosted a booth at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Families gathered around the booth to collect Speed Skating Canada’s pins while an airbrush tattoo artist sprayed different Canadian themed tattoos on visitors of all ages. River Green also opened its doors to host a lucky draw and accept donations for KidSport Canada.
