The Aspac Christmas tree “Finding Pchiddy” will be on display until January 5, 2015 at the Richmond City Hall.

Richmond, BC – As part of the seasonal traditions, the 14th Annual ‘Winter Wonderland Festival’ was officially kick-started by a morning of festivities. Aspac Developments Ltd. again sponsored the ‘Tree Lighting Ceremony’ on November 29, 2014 that was attended by the Honorable Alice Wong, Minister of State for Seniors; Mr. John Yap, MLA for Richmond-Steveston; Richmond’s Mayor Malcolm Brodie, Councillors, staff, community leaders and others.

Winter Wonderland is organized by the Richmond Sunset Rotary Club and proceeds from this year’s event will benefit various charitable programs and initiatives locally and abroad. Ms. Yvonne Lo, on behalf of Aspac Developments Ltd., joined the dignitaries in expressing thanks for being able to play such a large part of this wonderful community event. Guests were then invited to join the Rotary Club members for some Christmas carolling accompanied by the talented Mayor Brodie on the piano. The event was completed by the lighting of the giant City Hall Holiday tree.

As part of its dedication to giving back to the community, Aspac Developments Ltd. has been the ‘Event Sponsor’ for this celebration for the sixth year in a row. Again this year, Aspac continues to lead the way with the ‘charity within charity’ tradition.

River Green will decorate a wonderful Christmas tree and provide a fun activity with Canadian Olympic medallist Patrick Chan. The public is also encouraged to guess the number of ‘Patrick Stars’ on the Christmas tree to win a pair of tickets to a private event with Patrick Chan in 2015 plus an autographed item. Aspac will also be making a $1000 donation to a charity of the contest winner’s choice. For more contest information, please visit

The tree lighting ceremony marks the start of a display of 27 beautifully decorated trees supported by local businesses. The public can visit the Richmond City Hall main floor area to vote for the ‘The Most Beautiful Tree’.
