Aspac Developments Ltd. is a proud sponsor of the British Columbia Canada Pavilion in Beijing, China for the period May to September 2008. During this period, visitors to the Pavilion discover different aspects and enjoy wonderful images and descriptions of culture, trade, tourism and investment in British Columbia and Canada.
Situated near the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the 21,000 square-foot Pavilion greets visitors with a dramatic view of 13 stunning wooden arcs, representing Canada’s 10 provinces and three territories. The exhibit is organized according to the five elements of Chinese philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.
As a sponsor, Aspac showcases its past, current and future projects at the “Water” Element, including Waterfront Place, Harbour Green Place, The Wesbrook at UBC and River Green which will be a whole new community built around the Richmond Oval after the 2010 Winter Olympics. In fact, Aspac is recognized as having a tradition of creating urban living along water, which perfectly fits the theme.
Raymond Li of Aspac Developments was honoured to attend the Grand Opening of the BC Canada Pavilion on May 22 and pleased to have the chance of sharing the BC experience with many people from Beijing and other parts of China.
The ceremony was officiated by Federal Minister David Emerson, Premier Gordon Campbell, Minister Colin Hansen, who were joined by influential business and cultural dignitaries from Beijing, BC and other parts of Canada.
