All guests were treated with a “royal” welcome from Canada’s very own Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Renowned for raising the bar for environmentally-conscious, luxurious residential homes in Vancouver, BC, local real estate developer Aspac Developments Ltd. presented a number of seminars on the possibilities of sustainable living inside the Canada Pavilion of the 2010 World Expo Shanghai on June 11 and 12, 2010. This is in line with the theme of the Canada Pavilion – “The Living City: inclusive, sustainable, creative”

Within the Canada Pavilion, Mr. John Ryan, Vice President, Development together with other Aspac staff members, extolled on the benefits of master-planned communities as an approach to combining family, work, and community, as a demonstration of the high standard of living that the City of Richmond offers. Currently in preparation for the groundbreaking of Richmond’s premier waterfront master-planned community River Green, a 15-year project on 27 acres next to the Richmond Olympic Oval, Aspac executives, along with invited guest speakers Mrs. Joanna Kong of HSBC Capital (Canada) Inc. and Mr. David Chen / Mr. Vincent Chen of Visas Consulting Group, spoke to nearly 500 guests over two days.

Attendees hailed from local and afar, including the cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou, intent on learning more about a city they hope to call home one day. Following the seminar, guests mingled with Aspac staff members during the cocktail reception.

Famed for their transformation of Coal Harbour in the late 1990s and the environmentally-friendly design of The Wesbrook at UBC, Aspac Developments Ltd recently celebrated the grand opening of the River Green Story Centre. The Story Centre depicts the story of the City of Richmond through “story stations”, and also serves as the presentation centre for their newest project, the River Green community.
