On June 7, 2012, Mayor Malcolm Bride proudly unveiled the second edition of the Richmond Newcomers’ Guide at City Hall.

Amongst those in attendance were Councillor Bill McNulty, Councillor Linda McPhail, Councillor Linda Barnes, Richmond Intercultural Advisory Committee Member and Chair of the Newcomer’s Guide sub-committee Lawrence Lim, various City Hall members, as well as sponsors for both the English and Tagalog versions of the Guide.  The Guide is designed to ease the transitional process for all new residents of Richmond. It is available for those who need details about the city, local government, and services provided by different organizations.

Ms. Karen Tung of Aspac Developments attended on behalf of the company as sponsor of the Chinese edition, to greet the various immigrant families. “Aspac takes pride in being a sponsor of this guide, which will no doubt help to ease the transitional process for all new residents of Richmond,” said Ms. Tung.

Aspac, a renowned real estate developer based in Vancouver, is currently building the community of River Green next to the Richmond Olympic Oval over the next 10-15 years.
