To help bolster the launch of Community Cares Month, Aspac Developments Ltd. donated $100,000 to the Richmond Hospital Foundation on Sept. 1, 2015 during an announcement made at the  2 River Green Presentation Centre.

Aspac was also presented with the 2015 Community Cares Award in recognition of its philanthropic leadership in the community over many years.

The exciting announcement and awards event was part of Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Community Cares Month Celebration, highlighting the Emergency, Gastroenterology, and Cardiology Departments as shining examples of the expert care that patients receive at this local hospital. About 200 guests attended this presentation event including Malcolm Brodie, Mayor of Richmond, and Teresa Wat, MLA for Richmond Centre.

“Over the past few years, Aspac Developments has been an important partner with the Richmond Hospital Foundation and we have been pleased to show our support in an ongoing way. Richmond Hospital offers such good medical care and at Aspac, we are building world-class communities and committed to giving back.” remarked Aspac Developments.

Since the first phase of the River Green Development was launched in 2010, Aspac has taken a leadership role in the community as a way of demonstrating its long-term commitment to the people of Richmond. Aspac’s $100,000 donation will help fund new and much-needed medical equipment such as gastroscopes to assist in the diagnosis of digestive tract diseases and illnesses. One of Aspac’s many   fundraising initiatives also includes the sponsorship of the Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Golf Tournament over the past five years.

“Community Cares Month is an opportunity to bring the entire community together to donate to help improve the local health care we all cherish for ourselves, our families and neighbours, and employees,” said Natalie Meixner, President & CEO, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Aspac’s donation provides tremendous leadership and inspiration for others while demonstrating their deep commitment to the health of the community of Richmond.”

Last year, a total of $230,000 was donated during the Community Cares Month. For nearly 30 years, the Richmond Hospital Foundation has raised more than $61 million to help purchase vital medical equipment, improve patient care services, and upgrade facilities at the Richmond Hospital.
